Our Beliefs

Summary of BeliefsThere is only one God. The name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost is Jesus, and in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead. (Matthew 28:19; John 5:43; Colossians 2:9) Salvation is God’s free gift to those who repent, are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, and receive the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. (Acts 2:38; Ephesians 2:8) As His chosen people, we are called to live holy lives, set apart from the world. (1 Peter 2:9; 2 Corinthians 6:17)

GodThere is only one God. He has revealed Himself as the Father in creation, as the Son in redemption, and as the Holy Spirit in regeneration. Jesus Christ is that one true God manifested in flesh. In Jesus Christ dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. To see Jesus is to see the Father (Deut. 6:4; John 14:9; Col. 2:9; 1 Tim. 3:16)God's WordThe Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God and our final authority in all matters of faith and life. It is true in all that it teaches and reveals God’s will for salvation and holiness (2 Tim. 3:15–17; Ps. 119:105; 2 Pet. 1:19)Sanctity of LifeGod created mankind in His image. Life begins at conception, and every person is sacred. Marriage is ordained of God as the union of one man and one woman (Gen. 1:26–27; Gen. 2:24; Jer. 1:5)Fall of ManHumanity fell into sin through disobedience in the garden. Because of Adam’s sin, all are born sinners and need salvation. We must be born again of water and Spirit to be restored to God (Rom. 3:23; John 3:3–5; 1 John 1:8–10)Jesus ChristThe one God manifested Himself in flesh as Jesus Christ for our redemption. Jesus did not have an earthly father; he was the son of God. Jesus is both fully God and fully man, the only mediator between God and humanity. He is the Savior foretold by the prophets and revealed to us in the New Testament (Isa. 43:11; John 10:30; John 14:9; 1 Tim. 2:5)CrucifixionThrough His sinless life, sacrificial death, and shed blood, Jesus Christ made atonement for our sins. His death provides forgiveness, but that forgiveness is applied to us when we obey the gospel through repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38; Heb. 9:22)New BirthJesus rose on the third day, proving His victory over sin and death. The New Testament church shows us the new birth message: repent, be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, evidenced by speaking in tongues. This is what was practiced by the apostles (Acts 2:38–39; Acts 10:44–48; Acts 19:1–6)ChurchThe church is the body of Christ, made up of Spirit-filled believers. The church gathers for worship, prayer, fellowship, the apostles’ doctrine, and breaking of bread. We are called to live holy, separated lives and to take the gospel to all the world (Acts 2:42–47; Heb. 12:14; Eph. 4:3)HealingHealing is available today through the power of Jesus Christ. By His stripes we are healed, and believers can receive divine healing through the laying on of hands and the prayer of faith. In our services, we anoint the sick with oil and pray in faith for their recovery, trusting God’s Word and His promises. (Isa. 53:5; Mark 16:17–18; James 5:14–16)WorshipWe were created to worship God with our lives. Worship includes prayer, praise, financial giving, music, and obedience. Worship must be in Spirit and in truth (John 4:23–24; Col. 3:16; 2 Cor. 9:7)EvangelismThe mission of the church is to reach the lost with the whole gospel by the whole church to the whole world. Every believer is called to share the message of salvation and make disciples (Matt. 28:19; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8)
