Our Beliefs

1. Spirit: God isThere is only one God. He has revealed Himself to us as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and through the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that is, the One God who is a spirit manifested in and through an authentic human life. To see Jesus is to see God. (Deut 6.4; John 14.9; Eph 4.4-6; Col 2.9; 1 Tim 3.16)2. Scripture: God SpeaksThe Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is true in all that it teaches. As the flawless Word of God, it is our only authority for what we believe and how we live. (2 Tim 3.15-17, Psalms 119:105, 2 Pet 1:19)3. Genesis: God CreatesGod, in His love, created the first human beings, Adam and Eve, as a reflection of Himself. Human life starts at conception, with every unborn child also being a reflection of God. Additionally, we believe that God intended marriage to be a union between one man and one woman. (Gen 1:26-27, Gen 2:24, Jer 1:5)4. Fall: God JudgesGod created this world and humanity in a perfect sinless state. Satan tempted Eve to question God’s word, and she was deceived. The sin committed in the garden has been imputed to all human beings except Christ. All humans are sinners by nature and also by choice. Because we are born sinners in need of a Savior, we must be “born again”. (Rom 3:23, Ecc 7:20, 1 Jn 1:8-10)5. Christ: God RevealedGod manifested himself in the flesh as the man Jesus Christ for the purpose of redemption. Jesus Christ is one person with two natures, fully God and fully man. Jesus Christ came to earth to redeem sinful man as the only capable mediator between God and man. (Deut 6:4, Isa 43:11, Jn 10:30, Jn 14:9, Rev 1:8)6. Cross: God RestoresAs the mediator, the man Jesus Christ lived a perfectly righteous and sinless life, suffered and died in the place of sinners, paying the price for our sins to forgive us and reconciling humanity to himself. (1 Tim 2:5, Gal 3:20, Jn 1:1, Jn 1:14)7. New Birth: God SavesAfter dying on the cross, Jesus Christ rose from the grave on the third day, appearing to many and proving He was alive. We are saved through the power of His blood. The book of Acts shows us the new birth message: when we repent, are baptized in the name of Jesus, and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, we are buried with Christ, raised with Christ, and filled with the same Spirit that raised Him from the dead.” (John 3:5; Acts 2:38–39; Acts 8:12; Acts 10:44–48; Acts 19:1–6)8. Church: God PerfectsThe local church is a community of born again believers who confess Jesus Christ as Lord. The church gathers regularly for preaching and worship, observes Communion, keeps the unity of the Spirit, follows after holiness, and fulfills the great commission as missionaries to the world. (Heb 10:25, Acts 2:46-47, Acts 20:20-21, Eph 4:3, 1 Thess 4:7)9. Worship: God MovesHuman beings, made in the image of God, are created to pour out all they are, all they do, and all they can ever become to God. Worship is to be God-centered. Worship includes prayer, Scripture reading, tithing and other financial offerings, singing, and music. (John 4:23, 2 Cor 9:7, Col 3:16, 1 Tim 4:13)10. Evangelism: God ReachesThe ongoing mission of God’s people is reaching the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This necessary duty requires teaching and training to go beyond church events to share the message with unbelievers on a regular basis. (Acts 1:8, 2 Cor 4:3, Matt 28:19)
